VNEA
sanctioned Pool Leagues
|
 |
We received our charter
in 1990 and started leagues that same year. We entered 4 teams at the
Ohio State Championships in Mansfield, OH in 1992 and have grown steadily
every year. In 2004, at the 24th annual Ohio Championships in Canton,
OH, over ˝ of our entries won prize money at the Ohio State Championships,
including a 4th place in the Open A Division and a 13th-16th place in
the Open Ladies.
During the past 14 years, we have been involved with the planning and/or
implementation of numerous State, Regional and International tournaments.
Mike Fowler has been on the OCMA/VNEA state Pool board for 12 years and
the Executive committee of the VNEA for 8 years. He has trained in excess
of 200 people to be certified referees in the VNEA. Mike also serves on
the Board of Directors for the VNEA and OCMA as well. All the while our
main focus is on our local leagues. We want our players to enjoy
an evening of fun, camaraderie and FAIR competition without the hassles
of cumbersome league paperwork, rules and guidelines. Our league format
is a simple straight game format. Each person plays their games (currently
3) in a row against the same opponent. This format allows a team to have
members that get off work late or must leave early due to family or job
constraints. The Team plays for the 4 round points (each game column and
the total score column), which are adjusted by any handicap. The handicap
is the difference between each team’s total player averages.
Prize Money Payback is determined by each player’s actual points
scored. A check is issued to each eligible individual player for his actual
score (15 games min.). A player doesn’t have to worry about a captain
or location “losing” their share. The remaining money is paid to the top
finishing teams in that league. Each league has a detailed accounting
of all money, which is distributed with the checks and posted on our web-site.
This pay back method has worked well for us for years and even though
it is a lot of work to write all those checks we believe that it helps
cut down on player “sand-bagging”. After all, if you sand bag, you are
taking money out of your check.
Teams can qualify
for the Ohio State Championships as well as the prestigious VNEA International
Championships in Las Vegas, which now offers 5 team divisions with a payout
in excess of $600,000.00

NDA sanctioned
Dart Leagues We have had an NDA charter since 1995 and have been active
in the Ohio State Dart Championships since then. We have had quite a few
teams place in the money over the years and have had a State Champion
in the Open Doubles event (congrats to Mike & Tammy in 1999). All of our
leagues currently run on the brand new Arachnid Galaxy II dart boards,
they are virtually paperless and are automatically handicapped using the
NDA points and marks formulas. We offer a 4-man team league which plays
501 & Cricket doubles games with a 701 DO team games. We also offer doubles
leagues which play 501 doubles, cricket doubles and 301 singles.
All players qualify to play at the Ohio State Championships and NDA’s
Team Dart events in Las Vegas. Team Dart is the largest amateur dart tournament
in the world with a payout in excess of $450,000.
All Standings
for all of our leagues are posted on our web site www.wkmusicvending.com
from the home page access this page and from here by accessing the NDA
web board as a guest (or you can take the time to create a profile) and
going to the list of conferences. WK Music is at the end of that list.
All pay outs, standings, some guidelines and other information are posted
for reading or printing. As always, you may call Mike for more information.
